Welcome to the United Professional Sales Association's certification program

Introducing the only globally recognized certification program based on the universally accepted standard of entry into professional selling.

The foundation of any profession is a globally accepted "standard of entry." The UPSA standards found in our free Compendium of Professional Selling serve in this capacity for the sales profession. The certification program tests your knowledge of these standards. Developed by UPSA in response to individual and corporate requests for promoting sales professionalism, the UPSA certification unlocks the science of selling. The UPSA certification program defines the necessary knowledge needed to succeed in sales and holds individuals accountable to those standards -- objectively.

Unlike other so-called certification programs that seek to set individuals apart based on their "length of time in sales," or "their rolodex," or even someone's subjective opinion on another salesperson's ability; UPSA's certification program is an objective benchmark for the knowledge, skill, and abilities required to sell. This is the opinion of a handful of people, nor is it a narrow assumption of "what it takes" to sell. The UPSA Certification program was created by distilling hundreds of interviews, reviews of over 300 sales books, and over 3,500 pages of sales training, articles, and academic research on professional selling effectiveness and results.

The result: a customizable framework upon which to build competency and the only testable material for certification.

In the following sections of our site you will learn about becoming certified as well as programs offered by UPSA registered training partners.
